The Baltic Exchange Sub-Aqua club was founded in 1973, and since that time its members have dived the four corners of the globe, as well as introducing hundreds of people to the sport of scuba diving.

The club currently has around 40 members, and continues to be active in both diving trips and training.

RNLI Support

The Baltic Exchange and its members are keen supporters of the RNLI and have sponsored lifeboats for nearly 150 years.

Baltic members recently raised over £500,000 towards the purchase of a new lifeboat for RNLI Salcombe to replace its current boat, Baltic Exchange II which first came into service in 1988. This Tyne-class 24 ton boat is reaching the end of its working life and will be replaced by the Baltic Exchange III in the near future.

As part of our close relationship with the Slacombe life boat, BESAC have been fortunate enough to be invited to Salcombe to perform training exercises with the lifeboat crew for a number of years.

These exercises are a great benefit for all of those involved, increasing BESAC member's seamanship and sea safety skills, and also allowing the RNLI crews to practice diver recovery in realistic scenarios.

We encourage all of our members to support the RNLI in whatever way they can.
